Who we are?
Refugee Radio Awareness Network is a independent social Initiative by self organized reugees whose commitment is to human rights and human development.
we believe in ehancing human rights connecting people and cultures through powerful stories will affect positive change in the community.
By distributing content on radio stations and through digital platforms, inviting people to contribute their voices , we create a more informed and connected world.
The heart of the project is Refugee Radio Network which produces radio programs that helps to strengthen the voice of asylum seekers and refugees.
RRN is an online community radio program and is designed in Hamburg. It is primarily aimed at refugees in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Aim & objectives
Our aim is to promote peace and human dignity.
The radio project is helping:
To promote dialogue, debate and change. This will foster sustainable and equitable development.
To promote education, human rights and fighting discrimination, inequality within the community.
To inform the communities about the dangers of human trafficking and genital mutilation, communities can be warned to take precaution.
To Bridge the communication gap between the refugees and the community where information is freely shared directly without interference.
We want to ensure people that are affected by migration (refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented migrants) are involved in decision-making processes.

The project is supported by a high level of volunteer work, all presenters are participating without pay and the staff support for the station is so far free of charge.
Listening interaction and partcipation is carried out through social media such as Facebook, Twitter, skype, whatsapp youtube and Google+

Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers.
Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (Grundgesetz, GG)
Article 5 [Freedom of expression]
(1) Every person shall have the right freely to express and disseminate his opinions in speech, writing, and pictures and to inform himself without hindrance from generally accessible sources. Freedom of the press and freedom of reporting by means of broadcasts and films shall be guaranteed. There shall be no censorship.
